So I had to do manufacturer reset on my s20 ultra to try see if it fix my faulty camera. I backed up data to my SD card which I haven't done before. After reset I couldn't log into my Samsung account as it was asking me to log to perform back up from SD card. Unfortunately I didnt remember my password for SAMSUNG ACCOUNT  therefore I cannot restore my backed up data from my SD CARD. I dont understand why would I need to be logged in Samsung account when my data is on SD card not on Samsung account... please help

Hi @Havajiete

It's a Security Protocol that requires your Samsung Account Password to proceed which protects your data and phone.

This stops anyone from finding a phone and then factory resetting it to be able to use it themselves.

You can navigate to the Samsung Account Page to recover / reset your Samsung Account Password.

https://account.samsung.com/accounts/Reset Password.

Samsung Account 2 Step Verification Information.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi @BandOfBrothers

I have my Samsung logging password and user name, and when I try to restore my date from SD-Card, it's not working.

When I'm trying to restore data to my phone, it's asking me for password. I've tried every password I could think of, including my Samsung login password nothing is working.

Can you help with this?

Kind Regards

Farhan
