About storage space

I have a Samsung galaxy s20 ultra unlocked 

On the internal storage, it's about 45.46gb used out of 128gb of space, but I've not installed anything other than the usual updates and android 12 and the software that came with the phone 

How come it takes so much space, is there something like cache holding old data

On the My Files app
If scroll down
You will see a link
Annalise storage
Which will show unused apps
Which you could uninstall
If not using to save space

Hi,
Basically where all of your caches,
settings preferences, saved messages,
voice memos, and… well, other data is stored.
For the most part, it doesn't mean anything,
You have plenty of storage space 😉

I put a 256gb card in it as well
