Pokemon Go and the Samsung S20 Ultra

While this is primarily a Niantic issue, perhaps a gentle 'nudge' from Samsung might get their attention. All Samsung Galaxy Store versions of PoGo starting with 0.170.0 and subsequent updates 0.171.1 and 0.171.2 will freeze a few seconds after starting the game, from various Forum Threads around it seems to be just the S20 Ultra has this issue, i also have an S8+ and i even resurrected an old S7 Flat to test it and all updates are fine on them, luckily a forced update hasn't happened yet but when it comes looks like S20 Ultra players will be locked out, just to point out this also happens on the Google Play Store versions so ball is in Niantic's court.

What's ironic is that Samsung themselves provide all App developers a simple, free tool to use from anywhere in the World to test their App(s) on all Samsung models, including S20's, must be a bit too difficult for the coders at Niantic to figure out how to use a web browser.   :thinking-face:

you are assuming Niantic care. If 90% of the  players are happy....

It is happening to all S20 devices and today Pokemon Go has force updates for any older versions..even the 0.169..am glad I still have my S8+ to play on. Made a report to Samsung and they responded that it is the app issue. Reported to Niantic but no news yet. Read somewhere that could be a clash with Samsung 2.1UI. If so, Niantic will point back at Samsung.

I talked to Samsung support on another issue, but mentioned this issue. They said that they can't resolve issues with a 3rd party app. I agreed but said that Samsung could put pressure on Niantic. I can't see that ever happening.

They will always blame someone else, and the ones that struggle are the paying public. They've got their money. And that applies to both parties.
