What! No security patch for 6 months.,

My last security patch was April 2019 on my unlocked EU galaxy s10+ on BT mobile in UK. Help desk say this is acceptable and wait. Checked everything Inc smart switch and full power down.

I feel that this is NOT acceptable as Oct is already out and tablet has Sept.

Did you buy the phone brand new or used?

New from UK supplier, but originally Poland (booklets in Polish). It is an EU product number.

This is why the update is possibly delayed.

 

The phone looks to be an imported model and as such is reliant on the country of origin to send out the updates.

 

It's known for re sellers to acquire grey imports to keep their own costs down I suspect, but that can occasionally have an impact to updates .

 

If you download the phoneinfo app and look at the CsC code does it say XEU or something else @TealOak 

 

A Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre might be able to help by updating the phone In-House.

Thanks for help. CsC code on 3rd line is

XEU/XEU, XEO/XEO

 

I believe the first is relevant (XEU) and last reveals its Polish origin.

Maybe I should try factory reset?

Xeu is a phone that's been supplied by a reseller and not direct by Samsung.

 

It looks to be a grey import.

 

I had one which I purchased from the Carphone Warehouse and the updates were very slow on that too.

 

A factory reset won't make a difference as that inky takes a phone back to the last successful firmware update.

I took phone to local Samsung service centre and they reset phone and installed latest updates within an hour. Great service.  I wait to see what happens in future.
