Hi there,

Does anyone recognize this issue?

Since the update of June 13th I've noticed that if I take a picture using 3rd party apps like whatsapp, facebook messenger or snapchat the picture comes out a lot darker then in the frame after focusing.

When you focus on a dark area, brightness is automatically corrected (increased in this case). But when I snap the picture the actual phote that is taken is a lot darker. Almost as if the levels are reset or even darkened.

If I use the Samsung camera all is like before; the picture comes out the same as when focused.

TY!

*UPDATE*

Samsung's (safety) update of July 13th didn't fix it

Snapchat is close to unusable (unless it is bright daylight) and office lense is unusable. Is there anyone from samsung reading this? I am not far away from deserting this android ship (that I have been on since the very first phones).

Agreed I'm done with Samsung after this. Next phone will be iOS. How can they send out an update without fixing this. Hopeless testing going on!

I can confirm this issue on Galaxy S10e where photos taken in 3rd party apps like WhatsApp or Snapchat are so much darker than the same photos taken with Samsung's camera app.

Even two friends of mine using S10 and S10e do have the exact same problem.

Please Samsung fix this ASAP as it is really really annoying 😞

Try disabling Bixby scene optimization on the camera. Force close camera and snapchat, then try again. Worked for me :smiling-face:

If it doesn't help, try clearing cache and data on camera app, then remove Bixby scene optimization again and try again.
