How I destroyed my S10+ after just 3 weeks of use.

So, here we go, this happened last night and this whole day was a mess, I never felt so bad in years, this got to me heavily, so here goes.

I got the S10+ 128 GB 3 weeks ago, on Nov. 15 to be more exact.

Put a case on it (a cheap one for the time being as I was very low on money at the time).

No screen protection aside from the one which came with the phone.

Last night was the first time I ever dropped it, it was about a half a meter drop as I dropped it from my waist level on a stair. Phone cracked in the right upper corner but it's a very very small crack, and the phone went completly dark, aside from one centimeter of the upper part of the phone.

The strange reason is that sometimes, the always on display background pops up with the proper time and date. But most of the times, when I press the power buton, there's just a flash and that's it. I got Samsung Care, phew, so it will cost me about 60-70 bucks to fix it. Still, look at this, is the screen completly gone? Maybe just a sensor that would be easily replaced (I don't mind the crack in the screen that much).

I'll attach some photos and a short clip about the flash down below.

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance for reading this much and have a wonderful day!

not being cruel, but what caused the drop and was it absolutely unavoidable?

Regardless of the painful repairs for the bits needed, it can be prevented ever again.

I am not sadistical but inquisitive.

Mostly, the case was at fault I would say so. Also, I was holding the phone with the flashlight on, it was really dark and I was going up some stairs and I tripped a bit and the phone slipped.

I definitely agree with you, it would have been 100% prevented if I had gotten a better case, that covers the phone better and is not as slippery. Are there covers that go on the edge of the phone too?

My only suggstion is otterbox cases. https://www.amazon.co.uk/OtterBox-77-61411-Defender-Protection-Samsung/dp/B07N9GDT4H/ref=sr_1_1?crid...     £24.28  EXPENSIVE and worth it. cheers.

They look pretty ***** resistant, but don't they make the phone a lot heavier and too bulky?

NO. but it prevents costlier future breakage.
