Any ideas on the following please?

My S10 was in a car cradle being a GPS, not even on a charge cable and suddenly I had a bright white stripe at the bottom. When the lock screen kicked in it became impossible to get the screen back at all it just went enirely black. I forced a shut down, plugged it into a charging cable (although it still had 50% battery left) restarted it and I got the home screen again as it rebooted  along with the white bar again momentarilly before it went black again as the lock screen kicked back in. It's impossible to get any kind of screen back now but it still appears to function as it vibrated wen I hold the power button.

Many thanks.

I have the exact same issue 3 months after I bought the phone I noticed that it was overheating while charging and the charge wouldn't last very long at all and then randomly a white bar on the bottom of the screen so it's been sitting in a drawer for 6 months. I've been reading up and a lot of people are having this problem it's still in device manufacturer warranty so I just sent it in and we'll see what happens. I'm gonna fight them on it if they say that I caused this issue because I know for a fact i didn't. The simple fact that lots of other people are having the exact same issue. I've read it was a faulty software update  That was causing the phone to overheat and therefore burn the screen.  I take immaculate care of my phones and have never damaged one before they're all in perfect condition Including my S10 plus. Other than this. There's a white bar on the bottom of the screen and a little bit of green discoloration.  It's right near the charging port too which is when the device got really hot while charging. I updated the software and sent it in. I shall keep you updated on what happens I'm saving the links to this discussion to refer back to if I have to fight them on it.

Sounds exactly the same as me! I have pics and videos as well. Happened  3 months after I bought the phone and it has been 11 months since my purchase date I just sent it in  Under the device manufacturer warrantyafter reading all this so we will see if they cover it the better cause I know for sure it wasn't something I did

I am having the same issue with my phone. I started  to use the  google maps but stopped and left it charging.  This has to be a known  defect. Does anyone know what caused it and how to fix phone? Do I really go thru Facebook?

I think it HAS to be a known fault.. especially now as it's happening to a lot of people. I had to send the phone off for a new screen at my own expense. Really fed up with that but I was getting nowhere and was even accused of dropping it. I believe it to be a screen connection fault as just the vibrations of travel as caused this to happen with more than one person as I've read.

And as for Facebook.. apparently they spend more time monitoring that than their own complaints / tech department.

Good luck

Hi.. I'm sorry and not arguing with you but that picture shows nothing. Where are you seeing the black dot please? And I also fail to see, having never dropped the phone, how it could have been damaged. Shaking it about a bit shouldn't damage anything unless it's a baby.

It's an old story now anyway. I'm over it... I guess some people are still experiencing issues though.

That's exactly what I'm having too. The same place on the screen and where the charging cable part becomes very hot. Samsung seems that they only care about profits, those who have bought are no longer god. Thanks SamSuck, I will never buy from them again

Hi, just came across this for the same problem I have with a one month old S10 - shows white/greenish on the bottom of the screen! but it does go away again, seems like it happens when it's on charge.

Was there ever any solution to this fault??

cheers

update: now the screen is completely dead 😞

I am having the issue as well... youtube happen to be running when it occurred and i can see the youtube home page icons in the background of the white area, when the phone is locked it will flash green or red in that same area. the screen is working in that sense its seemingly trying to work... almost seems like a bug to me. i dont see how it can be the literal display when i can see it functioning through the white, and it will also display green and red (orange too) so maybe samsung is behind it to push people into new phones, it WAS THE FIRST SUGGESTION THEY MADE TO ME, JUST GO EFFIN REPLACE IT EVEN THOUGH IT WORKED 2 HOURS AGO AND IS PROB JUST A DISPLAY DRIVER OR FIRMWARE ISSUE.

Just had the same issue.
A white bar, bottom of the screen, 5mm high but I did notice a faint flickering black line for 2 days prior to the white area. The height of the black flickering line was exactly where the white went to.
I've ordered a new phone as this one has lasted a while. I had guessed the screen is kaput before looking on the forums.
After doing some reading it seems a common fault.
