I am not getting any sound notifications for WhatsApp texts, even though my phone does vibrate. I do get sound notifications for WhatsApp calls.
I have tried fiddling with in-app settings, disabled silent notifications etc.
Any suggestions?

In Settings, go to "Apps". Navigate to WhatsApp, then click on it. Click notifications, and enable everything.

this didn't work for me.....ALL my notifications are "ON", but I get no sound for whatsapp messages.

just for fun....I went in and changed sounds....thinking at least, if SOMETHING starts making noises....that's a start... this happened to me a few updates ago....
