Just upgraded from S7 to S10+ and used alarm for the first time this morning. Even at low volume it was so loud that I tweaked my neck when it shocked me out of sleep! 😫 Then I shocked my wife awake with my girlish scream. 😳 What happened to the "gradual increase" option? Why remove a great optional feature like that Samsung? It took less that 24 hours for "new and improved" to become a literal pain in my neck!

I've got a Q7 that give up streaming movies and live content from motogp.Com. Youtube works through the browser however nothing else. Now I'm going to have to buy a chromecast or some thing similar to this. Very negative assist from Samsung.

Sorry to say but this is exactly what Samsung and Google want. Samsung gets paid to allow Google products on their newer devices. Samsung will get paid when you download Google Clock, hence Samsung destroying a beloved software program. Google is taking over everything, including your data. Samsung is going to get paid while they still can. Has anyone on here read the the news about Google lately. Samsung is doing what is called, "Insider Trading". I hate IPhones, and I mean with a passion, but that is where I am going next, or maybe even see where Kyocera and Blackberry are at today. Google is taking your information and selling it like 1 billion kids with a lemonade stand on every corner on earth. This stuff will come out in 5 or 10 years, but they're both making bank on us while they still can.

I've always used the Google Clock app for my morning alarm and as a timer. Sadly, since upgrading to Android 12, alarms and timers on Google Clock have become very unreliable....   they frequently make no sound if the screen is locked, which makes them pretty useless (it's not just on Samsung phones, lots of reviews in the Play Store complaining about it).  So I've been forced to use the alarm on Samsung Clock and the lack of increasing volume is driving me mad

Absolutely agree... increasing volume allowed a gentle wakeup rather than shocking you from sleep. BRING IT BACK!

@medicmomsi: I've found that the volume of the alarm does gradually increase, however I do agree that the initial volume level can be a bit jarring. What I'd suggest is heading to the Clock app > Select your alarm, or create a new one > Alarm Sound, and move the volume slider at the bottom of the screen all the way to the left (as far as it will go). It will still be audible at this level, but should reduce the shock effect you're experiencing.

But the app clearly had this feature earlier, so what was the reason behind removing it?

Clearly many people like to have increasing alarm volume, so why not bring this feature back.

Also the google clock does not work with smartwatch, which is very annoying. If I want to set alarm or reminder in the watch, it will not be shown in the phone.

It has been going on for 2 years now, any ideas on why Samsung is ignoring this issue?

The latest software update has brought gradually increasing volume alarm to my S21.

Thank you for listening, Samsung!

Thank you for mentioning this. An alarm that does not give me control on volume is useless. Ill be switching to one that does now

I have disabled my S21plus alarms and am keeping my S6Edge to benefit from the gentle way in which the gradually increasing alarm volume wakens me from my sleep. It really is such a lovely way to get woken up!
