Stuck on the Beta software!!

Hi All.

So I signed up to the OneUI beta programme a while ago, and I de-registered from the programme back in November / December.

However, now the android 10 stable release is out, I seem to be stuck on the 3rd beta version (SK3) and I can't roll back to android 9 in order to get the official android 10 release installed. I've already tried factory resetting my phone, and using smart switch (there isn't an option to roll-back the software on there). Can anyone please help?

Thanks

You cannot roll back, nor is there any need to do so. Wait until the updates comes to you. Try to update via smartswitch, might come earlier that way.

Hi, I got same issue on S10 + and apparently no one even knows that what's causing this issue. Including tech team from Samsung and Android.

Hey there

As it happens, there's a relatively easy fix. It seems that as you did 't get beta updates 4-7, the update isn'r being pushed to your handset, I can only assume because it doesn't recognise the build as 'upgradeable'.

What you have to do is go to a Samsung service center and have the newest version of android 10 flashed to your phone, and that solves the issue! Should be covered under warranty, and it'll take around 2 hours.

The downside is that it's like factory resetting your phone, you'll lose all your data, so make sure you have it all backed up first!

Hi, I don't want to loose data. Is there any one from Beta team able to look into this matter and fix it.

I very much doubt that you'll get any special support for this. Besides, this is the user forum, not the support. Also see

12. What if an error occurs while installing beta software. What should I do?

Galaxy Beta Program is run by Samsung, independently conducted without network operators.

If errors occur during software installation, Samsung service center will support recovery.

Please contact to Call Center, you will be guided to the nearest service center.

@fudap: If you open the Members app and go to Settings > One UI 2.0 Beta Program > Withdraw, are you able to proceed with the rollback via Smart Switch?

As I stated in my original post, smart switch would not give me the option to roll-back the update to android 9.0. if it had, I would have been able to get the regular update to 10.0 in that case.

I believe the only way to solve this issue is to get android 10 flashed to your phone, in the absence of a specific fix from Samsung.

It's not like it's a huge deal though, if people just make sure everything has been backed up properly, data loss should be minimal / inconsequential.

I've encountered a similar problem. My S10+ is on Android 10 beta 7 and it want update. Tried ota, SmartSwitch, and the software upgrade tool offered by my carrier. Even took it to a Samsung authorized repair center to have the firmware flashed. Thankfully my provider is sending me a replacement. I want install another beta after this mess. Samsung did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue.

The Samsung Repair Center couldn't or wouldn't do it ?
