Hi @Sosna , Go to Settings-Apps- GMail- Notifications-Miscellaneous (tap Miscellaneous)- Sound . Can change from here.

@Sosna Sorry (had not checked that earlier) yes does not seem to be allowing personal ringtone /music to be used for many of the apps. Will see if I can find anymore out.

@Sosna It seems to work if you copy Audio files into the Notifications section of Internal storage. The custom files then show up in the Sounds - Notifications. I have tried G Mail and a few other Apps. More detail here https://www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-devices/how-to-set-an-audio-file-as-a-message-notification...
