Galaxy S10 SeriesHi guys
So this is my 2nd s10 plus. I sent my first one back for this same issue and this issue still arises with the new s10.
The WiFi connects to the virgin router fine. But randomly when browsing the Web, it will slow down and struggle to load pages, and only upload (the arrows next to the WiFi signal) and the 4g sign will appear whilst the WiFi sign is still showing. I have turned switch to mobile data off also.
I have an ipad and an s8 also so when this problem arises I have another device to see if the same issue occurs, however these devices are working fine.
This happens multiple times a day and can get very annoying.
Could it be that I'm unlucky and both phones have WiFi issues, or is this an issue with the s10 plus it self.
I did think it is the router but other devices connected to the same router works fine
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks

Galaxy S10 SeriesThanks. Think I may have to speak to virgin media regarding that as I have no clue. Iv also noticed my WiFi strength fluctuating alot even when the phone is in the same location in 2 rooms away from the router.

Galaxy S10 SeriesWell in general the ISP provided routers are 99.9% of the time pure garbage. They are cheap and bought by ISP for max 3£ per unit. They have horrible software and even more horrible wifi signals.
Go to your local tech shop. Grab the first thing you find. I guarantee you that it will be x10 times better.
I warmly suggest anything from Linksys. They have an app that lets you control everything you want. (Signal strength, password... who is on the net...)
Very user friendly even for complete newbie.
Just connect it with another ethernet cable to your virgin one. Also disable the wifi signal comming from the virgin one to minimise interference.
Problem 99% solved.
The thing is that ISP have routers and they maybe once update its firmware during its life time. (Despite having that automatic update option)
Dedicated router making companies are always pushing new firmware to be compatible with new mobile device gens

Galaxy S10 SeriesThis is completely a samsung issue. All they really care about are the countless, horrible apps they have created to compete with Google with Bixby being the chief abomination.
And no, resetting the router is not the issue . You can forget your network and sign in again or hard reboot your phone. You can even factory reset your device and yes for maybe an hour your speeds will improve. Then it will be back to dropping down to 1mg and maybe shooting up to 25mb. I have 100 mb speed on my wifi and my 150 dollar, dirt cheap Motorola gets over 100mb on every test.
Samsung already got their 1000 dollars. They could care less . This is the last of my money that will ever go to a samsung phone .
And to be clear this is an issue a lot of people are having.

Galaxy S10 SeriesI agree, they spend so much time, money and resources on re-creating apps already available that work better for thier ridiculous Samsung ecosystem that they can't even get the basics right.
Last update as made the WiFi worse and they still haven't even addressed their networking problems in general since this hunk of junk came out.
They're insane if they think I'm going to buy into any of their newer devices at yet even more money...

Galaxy S10 SeriesI used adb on laptop with USB debug enabled on phone and you can uninstall bixby all together "adb command from shell - pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package>" if you search you will find more info app called package name on playstore will help identify all that bloat you want out. My phone is twice as quick with bloat removed 🙂
