S10 - google apps not updating and installing

For the last week or so I have been having issues where apps are not updating or installing via Google Play Store.  The update\install downloads to anything from 35-100% and just stall.  I had 42 apps requiring update.

Apps are fine updated\installed via Samsung Store.

I have done all the troubleshooting suggested by both Samsung and Google.   Nothing worked.

In the end I did a factory reset.  After doing a restore of a backup all apps reinstalled and all updated correctly.  However some apps were missing and I'm still having issues when I try to install.  Again it will get to anything from 35-100% downloaded and then just stop.  Occasionally an app will eventually install a few hours later.

Anyone else seen this recently?

I cannot  update the new version of email on my S10.

When I press the update button it just opens the e mail.

I've found a solution in a google play forum.

Disable Google app (google app is used for searching and Google assistant). Settings / Applications / Google / Disable.

Then restart the phone. Optionally Wipe cache partition as instructed.

The update started working again.

Days later I've tried enabling Google app. Now everything is working ok, updates, notifications, google app...

Force stop the Google play store app for a few seconds and then turn it back on, it should start updating everything as usual.

Okay I've been dealing with this issue on my s10+ for the past half a year. In additional to not being able to install/update apps, I noticed delayed notifications from certain apps very often.

Trying all the troubleshooting steps from Google and Samsung failed. Back in April the only thing that worked was restarting the phone in SAFE MODE before updating the apps, and then turning off safe mode once the apps were updated. But safe mode breaks a ton of *****, and it takes like 30mins each time to restore to phone to working condition after safe mode is disabled.

Eventually I noticed that wiping the cache partition has a chance of temporarily fixing it for a short while allowing me to update apps.

Magically after a few months everything fixed itself after I apparently re-added one of my alternate Google accounts and tweaked certain Google settings. But this lasted for only 1 month before the same issue came back.

Now even wiping the cache partition does not allow my apps to update.

This is extremely disappointing from Samsung, or is it an Android issue? Either way, my next phone will NOT be a Samsung.

Just found a solution to my situation with the same condition described above and made my +60 apps start updating.

- Make sure you have a valid credit card connected to your Samsung account.

- Reset any notifications for unpaid subscriptions.

I'm having this issue since my S9+, spotted the issue and hoped it will disappear when swapping to the S10+, that was a joke, I contacted Google and Samsung, helpless and careless about customer issues. I upgraded to the S20 ultra 5G and just updated to Android 11, it is faaaaaaar worse than before and still Google and Samsung does not give a damm about correcting and investigating this issue widely spread.

This is what you get, if you are not happy go to apple, well Google and Samsung, I certainly will as you don't care about your customers as always.

And the issue comes with others such as delayed notifications, no notification at all, when touching a notification the related app might open 35 minutes after you pressed it.... Also notification sound are not played all the time especially with WhatsApp... Maybe the next step will be the phone ringing when it will decide it is the right moment to do so...

I have the same issue as everyone else and happened when the last update took place. I had 96 updates that weren't being updated. Your suggestion worked for me, many thanks!

After about a year of trying every suggestion going, this actually worked! Thanks

I was unable to update apps without going to safe mode first, couldn't open Gmail attachments and had delayed notifications and this seems to have fixed them all.

I simply updated my debit card details on my Samsung account
