S10 battery percentage not accurate after changing battery

Hi,

My battery had swolen about a week ago and I got it replaced just a few days ago. However since I got this new battery the battery percentage is no longer accurate or freezes. For example if I charge it it will stop at around 40, 50% and I have to restart the phone to get a better estimation of the right percentage.

I tried to recalibrate it as I'd seen on other forums so I let it drain completely (it stayed on 1% almost an hour or more) and recharged it while leaving it off but eventhough it was off it stopped at 50 or 60% and I had to start it and then restart it again to get the closest to right percentage.

Is it the battery that's failing? Do I have to reset something on the device? Or has some component in my phone broken when replacing?

@Noklaws

Is it an official Samsung Battery ?

Who carried out the work to replace the battery ?

A local multimedia shop did, and it is indeed an official battery, at least that's what I've been told.

Hi @Noklaws

Unfortunately having an unauthorised person carry out the work can lead to inferior parts being used, and the work carried out can cause issues.

This also invalidates the 24 Month Manufacturing Warranty.

Now obviously I'm not saying the person who carried out the work on the phone has caused issues and the battery is a poor part however it is a possibility.

You'll have to approach the shop you went to for support as I assume they guarantee their work ?

As the seals on the phone have been tampered with and Samsung won't have on record they've carried out work on the phone they may refuse support at a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre.

I wish you all the best with this situation.
