So I've just switched over to a s10+ from iPhone x and don't get me wrong I'm loving the phone but to me seems the battery life is pritty poor, sent a few emails this morning and lost 5% on battery life?????

Galaxy S10 SeriesIm at the same situation... Im gonna give them probably 2 more weeks or so, if nothing happens, no update or anything I'm just going to say bye bye to Samsung on mobiles phone for good and I may go back to Apple which didn't dissapoint me ever up to this level, or I'll give it a try to Huawei...
I have a workmate with the P2 pro and his battery lasts for 2 days, I tell you I've seen it with my eyes with over 10 hours of SOT, it's amazing.

Galaxy S10 SeriesI just received a software update from Samsung, released right now. It doesn't say anything about battery performance but mentions improving security and fixing bugs..... so....... we'll see! Though I don't have much hope! So far I can the same rhythm of losing 20% of battery for every hour of SOT

Galaxy S10 SeriesWell here's to hoping that one of those bug fixes are to do with battery lol. I would say if you've done all the optimizations possible and saw no improvement then I would return as faulty and keep going hahaha. I am now coming up to 37% better life on over 20 hours off charge with 3.5 hours SOT today BUT one of my tasker settings malfunctioned and turned on my location in Google maps and didn't turn it back off for nearly the whole day. Maps shouldn't be collecting data but you never know...it typically does which means battery drainage.

That's not bad.... I would expect the same on mine but my best mark is exactly 1 hour below that one.... And still, I know of people who get +7 SOT approaching 8 hours.
The update havent fixed the bugs so far for what I see... Last night the consumption was 8% over night on standby mode...
Btw I had a reply from samsung saying the situation is normal on my phone.... WTF!!! I already placed an add on FB to sell it for god's sake!

Galaxy S10 SeriesIs it me or is everybody going over top about battery? Who stays away from a charger for so long? 5 to 6 hours screen on is reasonable.. mine lasts a day no probs even if I have been really been using heavy I put it on charge.

I used to get +5 hours SOT with my previous phone who had a lot less battery capacity... and that's the thing.. You move to one of these phones with the hope you will get a better capacity on SOT as they claim, and actually some of my friends with these phones get +7 +8 SOT. And that's enough to no need to charge it at the end of every day.. It would last at least a day and half and in some cases 2 days before needing charging..
But clearly many models are having issues with the battery and some people are getting even only 3 hrs of SOT.. There is something not right.

It's because in comparison to other phones with similar battery capacities, the battery behaviour/drainage on the S10's are horrific.

Galaxy S10 SeriesYeah I don't believe that at all. Samsung offered me a new phone despite me being on an EE contract. I turned it down a couple of weeks ago because I felt it was best to stick with an EE phone. Thats when I asked ee for my third replacement and hey, seems to have fixed it.
It's a real shame for you because it sounds like your 14 days cooling off, and your 30 day return if broken policy is up

Galaxy S10 Series@Curt_Interludes Yeah I got the phone on the day of release, 8th of March so I'm out of the 14 and 30 day periods. Annoyingly I highlighted the issue with Carphone Warehouse first and they advised taking it up with Samsung. They'd said that they could replace it, but it could take up to a week by the time I'd sent it off, and they'd sent a new one out. The agent at Samsung had said they could send a new one with UPS to drop off at the same time they picked mine up. Given I didn't want to be without a device for a week I tried to chase it with Samsung. But here we are a month later almost and still using the original handset with the battery drain issue. FML!
Why did you decide to stick with an EE handset particuarly?

So your third replacement is doing good? Check at the build date was Dial *#197328640#* or *#*#197328640#*#* in your Dial Pad. Select the Menu Version Info->Hard Ware Version->Read Cal Date. This Date is the Manufacturing date of Your Android Mobile -
my replacement from EE was built on 9th March so the day after release - same as my first, battery won't go over 5h SOT - @cara1 AH3 didn't do much for me, I mean I didn't end up doing as many disables and whitelists as you but really couldn't be bothered with it .
If @Curt_Interludes your 3rd handset works fine I worry that it's a hardware issue - maybe more recent built ones are fine 😕

Galaxy S10 SeriesI'm not sure AH3 did too much for my battery either but it's nice having no ads and a snappy Internet regardless!!! And also nice to be able to control the packages/disable packages that I don't use on the fly. Unfortunately that dialer doesn't work for me...but, I guess my SOT isn't as terrible as what other people's are on here even though it's still not overly fantastic

iphone x i used for 1 year still now
if i sleep with 100 percent in morning it was still 100 percent

and i never switched off wifi or anything
i wake up with 100 of messages but battery was still 100 percent
but here in s10 plus i am in tension now
i spent 1400 dollars
its not fair samsung
I understand you completely.. I switched from an iPhone 7 plus to the Galaxy note 9, and 1 of the main reasons was to IMPROVE in the battery capacity... Same thing happened to me with the iPhone as you described.
I am getting about the same battery capacity I was getting with the iPhone that was 2 years old!
It seems unacceptable for me that such an expensive phone and we're having these type of issues with the software and still no solution.
I tell you I'm getting so pissed these days that I am over 80% sure now I will end up bad selling this phone (for a much cheaper price I got it for) and switch back to iOS or go and try Huawei.

Galaxy S10 SeriesI have noticed that the battery doesn't last. I hv just charged overnight to 100% .it's 11.am and already down to 55%. My S7edge battery life was better
.I do the same things by cleaning running apps in the background but still the same. It don't last.

Galaxy S10 SeriesIt would be good to know when peoples devices were made - newer ones if they are getting good battery as intended may mean hardware? Would also like to know what software people are running, is there a problem for instance with carrier firmware rather than the Samsung unlocked one - I'm not really angry, enjoying my S10 plus certainly but concerned that if it is a hardware large batch issue that the battery will only get worse and not last for the 2 years .
I'd be happy with a software fix for sure but I really can't see it - no reports on big sites to get samsung to take notice.
