Hello,

I have purchased an S10+ unlocked sim-free version, however before opening and being unable to return it, could anyoe tell me if there's a difference between the codes SM-G975F/DS and SM-G975FGDBTU?

The box is sealed with a 'European Sim card only' seal and stated as a European model, but I assume this is normal and the software/ firmware will be for the UK and everything will work for the UK market, eg Samsung Pay.
I'm sure I've purchased an official version but want to make sure, before opening! The seller (UK company) is unable to confirm!

Thanks in advance!

might not be exact info you looking for but anything ending BTU is UK Unbranded firmware (no Vodafone/O2 logos etc)

SM-G975F/DS is not complete identification string, this just says s10+ dual sim support.

SM-G975F GD BTU - identifies to UK region.
not 100% if thats dual sim or not, they might have all been dual sim or hybrid sim supporting either sim+sim or sim+sd card.

BTU means the firmwarw is for UK region.

SM-G975F/DS seems to imply dual sim supprt, not sure if s10 had dual sim or hybrid sim supprt (either sim+sim or sim+sd card).

also, if its samsung pay you worry about then it you might be happy yo know that its quite liberal. a Note10+ bought in UK at an official samsung store allows Samsung Pay to work perfectly fine in Russia and its not even in EU.

I agree with @VladimirP

My Samsung phones I buy directly from Samsung UK have the BTU csc which are phones supplied directly by Samsung and are unlocked to all network's @dbrm

Resellers usually sell phones that are still unlocked to all network's but typically have the XEU CsC.

It seems strange the company you bought the phone from is unable to provide the details your asking for.

Thank you - I feel a little bit more reassured, just had a bad experience with a previous purchase which ended up with me having an Italian version, without prior knowledge/it being made explicit that was the case, which only gave me Italian banks for Samsung pay, and some T&Cs in Italian also; so making sure I'm in good hands this time!

This company isn't a phone provider first hand, so doesn't have specific support staff I suppose to cater for such queries, hence me hoping someone here could help me...and thankful to have a few responses already.

Thank you, I managed to find similar info earlier, pretty sure it's hybrid sim from some other posts too.

Can't confirm the phone is actually BTU version however without opening it and switching it on, but everything I've seen (including little clues on the Samsung shop website) and everyone's responses to my post, make me feel a little bit easier with opening it now, thank you.

I use the phoneinfo app from the Playstore to show information about my phone which includes the CsC but as you mention Yes it'll need to be booted up to do this.

I've seen so many problem threads in connection to people importing phone's or being supplied a grey import and then coming up against issues.

When the Samsung Note 7 was recalled I was tempted to import the Samsung Note Fe but after some homework soon became aware of potential issues so never pulled the trigger.

I now only buy from my local Samsung Experience Store.

Good luck.
