Putting photos in separate albums

I don't understand ......when you move pictures and videos into the recycling bin it deletes it from the main folder and puts it in the recycling bin.                       So when i want to MOVE items from main folder to a dedicated album, why does the original stay in the main folder????

maybe you are copying it and not using the moving option

@wales786: Further to the advice offered by @Anonymous User, are you making sure to select 'Move' rather than copy?

My Files > Internal Storage > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Edit > Select the files you want to move, or hit 'Select All' at the top of the list > Move > Tap the My Files home icon > SD Card > Move Here
