Hi everyone.
I've tried last night to record a low light video and I first thought that it was a bug. The video is absolutely terrible. I mean not just noisy, there are some kind of compression artifacts all over the place. The video looks worst then on my S7. The artifacts give me the impression I’m looking at old footage filmed with a NOKIA N95.
I have tried with OPEN CAMERA and I have the same results, with more or less noise and more or less exposure per frame. I’ve rebooted the phone. I have reset the camera app. I literally thought this must be a bug. I still hope in the back of my mind that this is a BUG. This cannot be an actual result. I can record a demo clip in low light just for demoing.
Do you guys have the same problems when recording in low light?
Is there a cure for this illness?
Please comment guys.

@Klaudden: Sorry to hear of your disappointment regarding the quality of your recordings in low light. To troubleshoot the issue please open the Camera app > Video > Tap the magic want symbol in the top right > Filters > Original > Beauty > Move slider to the left > Tap the cog symbol > Rear Video Size > Select 16:9 > Resolution > Increase the current resolution to FHD (60FPS) or higher > Tracking Auto-Focus > On. Do you notice an improvement following these steps?

Hi Andrew. Thanks for the advise. I have tried your suggestion, yet I cannot select the magic wand in vedeos. It is greyed-out. Same when changing the resolution and disabling HDR. Any othe suggestion of what I can do to troubleshoot further ?

If you tap the cog symbol in the top right of the Camera app > Camera Modes > Edit Modes > Night (tick this option), then select it from the modes above the camera button, this should help you take brighter, clearer pictures in low light without a flash. Hope this helps.

Hi Andrew. I have no issue with photography. Video recording in low light can be better. I have better results with the S7 Pro Camera  mode in Video. There is quite a lot of noise and artifacts. I prefer less noise (maximum 200 ISO). Ive only now have seen how terible the camera can be in low light.

Just bought S10 - disgusting camera behaviour at night. Is this something as expected or defective phone exemplar?

Exterior lenses (glass) are clean.

Hi,if I was you I would return it because night mode on the S10 is terrible.Even I regret buying the S10 because the night mode isn't as good. You can get the S20 for the same price as the S10.

Unfortunately I can't. S20 is x1.5 more expensive than S10 here in Belarus now.

Same issue, not only video, but photo night mode at S10+ is very low quality, lot of noise, seems like phone camera pictires from 10 years ago. Used to have a Galaxy S9, used to make beautiful pictures at night, I regret I switched to S10+.
