Pictures and videos missing from secure folder S10+

So I had a few folders in my secure folder with a period at the beginning of the name for example----> .Vacation

Now all of the folders like that are missing.  Is there any way I could get them back? They were family pictures

Have you been able to locate these photos? Did you have your data backed up anywhere such as Samsung Cloud or Google Photos?

I haven't the pictures.  They're completely gone from my phone. I put them in the secure folder so that this exact situation wouldn't happen but look how that turned out

Have you also checked for any back up options available such as those mentioned previously?

Yes I have. Still nothing unfortunately

I have had the same thing happen the phone did a software update and all my fotoa and files in the secure folder are gone.  ridiculous that updates are not tested and no i didn't have them backed up to.cloud or anything
