Photos randomly disappeared from gallery

I have just gone to the gallery on my S10e and 99 % of my photos have gone, including all of my albums (about 10). I am unable to find any of the lost albums and pictures in my files. I have tried DiskDigger which was also no use. I ran a software update after that nothing else. Any ideas?

Hello there! I am sorry that you have lost most of your valuable photos, I will try to help you get these back.

First, kindly tell me the type of photos that remain. Are they the most recent photos, or were they taken after the photo loss?

Please double-check Google Drive or the Samsung Cloud for any backups of your photos. These should have automatically synced if you didn't disable it. 

If there's any more information that you can give me, that would be well appreciated. Just anything that strikes you as "important".

Hello. Thank you for getting back.

All of my photos have disappeared including camera roll, screenshots, Whatsapp images and videos.

The photos that  disappeared were photos from around 3-4 years ago till now. I have managed to get some whatsapp images and videos back through family and friends sending them to me but still haven't recieved the ones that were originally on my gallery or on Whatsapp media, docs and links.

I have double checked Google Drive and Samsung Cloud and there is no trace of them.

Can you check the "Recently Deleted" folder? You may find this in the "My Files" app. If this does not work, and you can confirm you have no backups whatsoever, then your photos are as good as gone. This has happened to Android devices in the past (or Samsung devices mostly) where all their media would just disappear. As far as I know, all Samsung themselves say is to restart your phone to try your luck. An app crashing or some form of corrupt media may have caused your photos to go missing. There may, however, still be a small chance that the photos are there, somewhere on your phone, you just can't find them. I advise checking the storage in "Device Care" and see if the Gallery app is using much storage. If it is, I would connect it to a PC and look through the files again. Also, do you have a memory card inserted in your device? If not, have you ever inserted one into your device?

Since Samsung started syncing the gallery photos wit Onedrive, I have had nothing but problems. I have had every single NOTE from the beginning but the new Note 10 Plus and the Samsung Gallery issues have had me pulling my hair out.

If you have Onedrive then your photos are being synced automatically. You can click on Onedrive on your phone then PHOTOS. 

I remember seeing an option to remove them from my phone after syncing but now I can't find that.

I am still trying to get the photos I take to STAY on the phone. Good luck

Hi, I had over 900 photos in my galaxy  SM-G97OU. I had albums and tons of photos in each. Today my photos album only show 300 something total. I am not sure where these photos are. I did not have them sync'd to Samsung cloud. Please advise on how to recover this.

I'm in even worse situation, i just done backing up all my albums on Onedrive and suddenly the next thing i know,  one album that contains thousands of pics got deleted  which just doesn't make sense, and i couldn't find them on any backup aps ever again, my internal storage got cleared up about 100G too,need help
