Has anyone else had severe lag when performing basic tasks such as using the gesture controls and typing since the new update?

Yes opening the recent apps menu is laggy. Also the notification shade is the same

I had same problem so did my partner... A10 galaxy... I went to settings-device care-battery-more battery option then turned of adaptive battery which limits power usage to some background apps.. It seems to have helped and my battery lasts longer

Yes writing gets lagged and distorted and you can't see what is writing. My phone was perfectly smooth on one ui 3.1 . Now it's a hell of a mess. All apps crashing some of them unusable. Most terrible update
