Notify During Calls Off but Still Getting Notifications During Calls - Frustrating!

After Android Pie update (I believe), on every call via handset or speaker phone, the same sound is played for ANY notification (email, text, ring, KiK, etc.).

Stock phone app and "Notify during calls" is  off.

Extremely frustrated - Any help is appreciated!

Hi @Mr_Eclipse

Have you tried turning this off in the individual notification settings for each app? Go to Settings > Notifications > Select App > Account alerts > Notification style > Silent.

I have not, but wouldn't that silence notifications at all times? I am only trying to silence them while I'm on an active phone call which the setting in the phone app is supposed to do.

Thanks

I am also having the same issue and haven't been able to figure it out.  A generic alert sound (not the one I have set for alerts) goes off during phone calls even though my notify during calls setting is turned off.

It's very weird that Samsung is ignoring us as this is very serious problem and no solution from them

I have the same issue and it only started about a month ago, prior to that, it didn't make a notification sound when a message is received whilst I am on a phone call.  It is very frustrating as I have searched everywhere for a solution and can't find one.  I can't hear the person talking to me when it happens.

Yes, it is supremely frustrating that this is being ignored. We cannot be the only customers experience this problem, but I have found no resolution and Samsung is mute, which unfortunately seems to be there model more and more on product support.

Hi all,

Just to provide some context, my Mod powers are telling me that (Mods aside) you guys are all non-UK/Ireland (mostly from the US, but also Australia and Egypt.)

I found this thread over on the US Community: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S10/Notification-sound-playing-during-calls-on-S10/td-p/8..., where one user identified the Hiya app as being the cause, and another user with a Note9 found that it was the stock email or Gmail apps.

But if neither of those solutions work for you, it's best to report the odd behaviour via the Members app as soon as it happens, sending log files to the software team in your areas so they can analyse and produce a fix. :thumbs-up-sign-emoji-modifier-fitzpatrick-type:

Samsung Members > Get Help > Send Feedback > Error Reports > [select error type] > attach a description and tick ‘send system log data’ > Send.

(Or: Long-press the Samsung Members icon on the Apps screen, and select Error reports from the dropdown menu, etc.)

Thanks and yes, US S10+ AT&T. I do not use Hiya app and can't see how the issue would not be broader with Gmail or stock email apps.

Suppose I will try to report through the members app once the call that is interrupted ends.

Thanks

So for us who bought the Samsung in Europe, can you tell us how to make it so no notifications are making sounds during call?
