New phone, ported number now UNABLE TO SIGN INTO MY SAMSUNG ACCOUNT!

Hi, I recently got a new S10 on a new contract after previously having an S8 on PAYG. I wanted to keep my old number so got in touch with my provider and had my number ported.

I set up the S10 like normal using smart switch to move my data and apps, all was fine until my Mum was trying to message me.

Using the Samsung messages any message that my Mum tried to send as a "chat" wasn't sending to my number but if she changed the message to an "SMS" it sent fine. I then tried to send a chat to her number and it sent but from the temporary number NOT the number I asked to move over. She then called my number and that was fine too... So it seemed to be just the chat not working.

Called my provider and they said the number had changed so it should be fine, told me to go to the settings and turn off advance messaging restartt phone and try again... That didn't work. The provider then told me that the only way to resolve is to FACTORY RESET and start all over again.

Did the reset and got to the stage of having to sign into my Samsung account ... However I cannot sign in. When I put my email and password in it then asks for a verification code from a two-step authenticator but it is trying to send that code to the old number which has been cut off. So I cannot access the code and therefore cannot sign in. There is no option to change the number that it sends the code to.

I had to make a whole new account so that I was able to use my phone and now cannot access anything linked to that account. It was also linked to my tablet and I cannot sign into that either.

Is there anyway I can change the phone number or get my old account unlocked.

Any help is extremely appreciated

Thank you

This sounds like an issues for your phone company. They changed your phone number and that is what is protecting your account with two factor authentication. I think Your best option would be to try and get your old number back.

If that doesn't work then you can chat live or call Samsung if you cell provider can't fix your number

Typical of all phone accounts including Google. My phone expired after it caught fire. Samsunh and Google send my 2 step verification to my dead phone There must be a way around this problem. Google, helpful as ever, has closed all threads that mention this. Samsungseems to have only one. This one. And it's getting nowhere with a solution
I reckon whoever designed this system never thought about it,so there is no solution. Just needs a programmer at Google or Samsung to think out of the box to sort it. But as modern programmers use prebuilt code it may never happen.
So goodbye Google and Samsung

(NOT Galaxy S10 - I have a Galaxy NOTE9)

This is the most ridiculous problem I've ever seen. I had to make a new samsung account because my number was switched off by the ex boyfriend. Now I can't access my Facebook, Messenger, Microsoft, banking accounts...

I have all the information to log in. Password... everything! I've been chatting with customer support for hours. I won't let them off. They keep giving me the run-around.

This seems like a problem that a lot of people would have. Changing of phone numbers. You would think they have found a solution by now.

UPDATE:

Chatting with customer service right now. Technical support. Started off by giving ALL my account information:

full name, BD, E-mail, previous and prior phone numbers, etc.

He asked for the IMEI # and the Serial Number for my phone. When he verified those matched the last phone I had the account linked to the account, he sent this (see screenshot) Hopefully I'll be getting an e-mail... Capte.JPG
