When ever I have received calls via messenger or whats app, regular or video call most of the time the other person can't hear me it works every now and again but whenever I hang up and call back it works no problem. Can anyone help with this issue?

Hi @JordanRoy

Could you confirm if this is only happening on incoming calls, and that outgoing calls using the phone app or through one of the other apps mentioned, are OK?

99% of the time incoming calls the other person can not hear me, on messenger and WhatsApp also if I'm on Facebook video/voice call and go onto another app (check emails) but stay in the call as soon as I got back to the call screen the other person can not hear me I need to stop the call and call back then it works ok.

@JordanRoy: Is this occurring for all contacts, or just certain ones? Next time the issue occurs, can you try pressing the Volume Up button on the side of the phone to make sure your call volume is at a suitable level. If it is, and the issue persists, can you open the Samsung Members app and go to Get Help > Interactive Checks > Mic, and follow the on screen instructions to see if it returns any errors?

I'm having exactly the same problem on my Note9, did you manage to fix it somehow?

I have the same problem on a S9+. Every now and then when someone calls me(I only use regular cellular calls) they can't hear me but I can hear them. If I hang up and call back everything is fine. I doubt it's a hardware issue because I've testet with the Interactive Checks and thtrough the voice recorder and it's working. I was thinking it might be from a call recording app that I've installed but the issue persists even after uninstalling it and cleaning with CCleaner. Maybe Bixby Voice is the culprit. It's so annoying!!

Sadly I also experience it with my S9+, with both sim cards (different carriers). Outgoing calls work 100%, but incoming calls are rarely... I hear them, but they can't hear me. When I toggle speakers on and off while an incoming call, then the mic gets fixed most of the time, but not sure.

I got the same problem on my S9+ after installing november 1 security update. Hoped that december 1 update solve it, but only the first incoming call worked without issue 😞

Incoming calls on both SIMs are muted first until togle speakers on and off. Outgoing calls are not affected nor calls in any other apps like Whatsapp, Viber or Teams. Seems a security update bug 😞

Does anyone know how to report to Samsung?
