Disable rich communications and chat features in your message settings then try again, your phone will try to use this feature to fellow Samsung users, all it really does is show you when it's delivered, read, and when they are typing back to you, most of the timea it doesn't always work, and the message just fails to send, however messages to other devices will just send as a normal SMS
