I can no longer record Slow Motion on my S10 and output MP4 files at 1080p 240 FPS. This used to work.

Hi, I'm at my wit's end, I used to record lots of videos at 1080p 240 FPS on my Galaxy S10 using regular slow motion mode, and now, since the past month or so, I can't do that. It always records files to 1080p 30 FPS instead.

Help! I looked through all the camera settings and tried every option I could find. I just want my S10 to record true 240 FPS videos like it used to.

Yes, they downgrade the phones, like it seems. I have another S9, didn't update it for at least months or a year. Everything works fine there, slow-motion as intended, pro-mode as expected.
I don't know if they will fix it back, because i don't know where to bring an official complaintment about this.
I contacted Samsung on facebook, 2-3 weeks ago. The employer asked me to send IMEI and Software-Version, so I did. I got an answer, one week later, but no solution. The explanation is a bit fuzzy. I can give you a citation, but it's in German:

I think the employer didn't understand my question, because the answer is not satisfying. It's no solution, there is a try to explain something, that has nothing to do with the problem. I wrote Samsung back, again with detailled Information about the problem and that the current state is not acceptable for me. I asked them for an urgent solution (update the camera app), or a Shop that can refund my payed Euros for this Phone. Still waiting for an technical correct answer, no, for a technical solution. I'm so pi**** because of this.
Even if there is another camera-app that could handle the right fps or modes, this is not the promised and advertised feature of the phone.
I agree with user "GalaxyFan77", so true.

I got an answer.

They say it is a feature, because many customers wanted this (which customers?). The argument is, that the people were not able to share their slow-motion-movies on the SNS (Social Network Services). I guess they mean platforms like instagram, facebook etc., but i doubt that argument.

I can't really reproduce this, because I don't use social platforms on my phone, but I have tried an friend's account on my second device (S9 - no updates since a year or more, so old software) and was able to share the movie. I didn't upload it, because the friend didn't want me to, so I can't say if this works 100%. I'll give it a second try, with a new account in the next days.

I didn't answer them yet, but will for sure. I try to collect as many information as i can before i write back.

Maybe more people should complain about this and get in touch with Samsung to tell them, that this *****ty new feature is a bug and they should change it or give the people the money back.

Even if people weren't able to share their slowmo videos, there's a reason why even in the gallery, theres a BIG BUTTON THAT SAYS: EXPORT. Like come on, if there was already an option to render/export your videos, why do you need to mess it up for others users? Its so annoying.

I've tried many video recording apps but most of them do not support slow motion.... the ones which do support it somehow do not recognize the Samsung camera and don't allow slow motion recording... so this is hopeless... But my friend with her iPhone enjoys full benefits of slow motion recording. Just sayin'

I wouldn't feed the iPhone *****. My bet is to try factory reset to. I am still able to use it on my s10p.

My issue with the slomo is that I don't know how to edit only a portion of the slowed video. Whenever I do so the video I cut is running on normal speed. Hope this is not part of the buggy update

The factory reset won't help. You must downgrade the samsung One UI back to 1.5 or 1.0. They messed it up starting from One UI 2.0 (around December). I wish I have never updated the firmware... now it's nearly impossible to downgrade. Unless you didn't update the few last times.

There is couple of videos on YouTube explaining how to downgrade without rooting the device. I haven't tried that yet. Have any of you tried it?

By the way, tomorrow I'm gonna go to the official Samsung store to ask some questions regarding the slow mo. I will update you on it asap

I'm quite new with my S10+, is this issue the same issue I raised here? https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S10e-S10-S10-S10-5G/The-slow-motion-camera-stops-as-soon-...

For me the super slow motion doesn't work at all (well for the first 3 seconds only)

No, this is not an issue what you describe, it's how it meant to be. This subject is more about slow-mo, or the way Samsung screwed it up. If you are not post-producing movies, then this is not your topic. Super slow mo is meant to record not more than 3 secs or something like that.

I don't want even try to downgrade. In my opinion it's an issue, that Samsung should fix. But when they don't, i'll think about the downgrade.

Please share some news, if you had luck at Samsung store. Thanks!
