I have a galaxy s10 plus and send long texts - usually by cutting & pasting text from a Samsung notepad entry I have set up (eg. directions to my house). Its so annoying its converting them to mms and therefore I'm getting charged. How can I either completely stop my phone sending mms messages or stop this conversion happening. Thanks!
thanks for help. It worked
There is one solution but be remember that text message does not support emojis, so that might be one of the reasons your SMS getting converted to MMS. So to stop this conversion:
1. Open the message app and tap the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner.
2. open Settings
3. Choose more settings
4. Go to Tex messages option
5. Tap on "Input Methods"
6. (your selected option would be 'automatic') -> change it to "GSM alphabet"
Now your SMS won't convert into a MMS but if you use any emoji(😂) it will not appear the same in the receivers phone.
Hope that helps!😀
Thanks. GSM alphabet did the trick on S20
i had the same problem on the A21s it was so annoying
solution was i had an email address attached to the contact so i deleted the e-mail address and it fixed my problem no more mms now sending in sms
hope this helps
Tried other paid, ad centric apps that didn't work. Then, Signal App found the problem, https://signal.org/en/ - completely free, open source, full privacy using settings -> default app -> SMS app -> newly installed Signal and it complained my "Mobile Networks" had "MMS messages send and receive when mobile data" is off "unchecked".
hey! I did this and it worked!
Problem is I don't want to see the annoying message that warns me that emojies wont appear the same in the receivers phone before sending the text message! Is there any way to stop that from showing up each time i send a message with emojies??
