Hello, my manager sent me a new S10+ from the ATT network. However, I am in Canada on Telus Network. I was able to get the phone unlocked so it will work on Telus, bit I am not getting Android 10 pushed to me. Every time I check for updates, the phone says software is up to date. Android 9 is the current version. I looked into changing the CSC, but TLS is not listed as one of the codes. Is there a way around this?

Hi @AltersEgo
If a phone is purchased from a network etc then it's a branded phone and relies on that network pre testing an update before letting Samsung send it out which can in turn cause delays.
If a phone is purchased directly from Samsung then it's an un branded phone and gets updates direct from Samsung with no delays due to the involvement of the networks.
Question is which one is yours ?
If you download the phoneinfo app from the Playstore it will tell.youbwhat the active CsC is thus you'll then know wether its branded or not.
What we also sometimes see is that when a phone is imported from one country to another this can result in slow updates or even no updates too.
Updating the phones firmware is performed either by....
1. Using the phones internal software update section.
2. Smartswitch.
3. A Custom Rom to which more info can be found at sites such as xdadevelopers website but a person needs to be aware of the pros and cons of such a process before proceeding.
Disclaimer.
A person tries a Custom Rom at their own informed choice being fully aware that a person can either use a wrong Custom Rom that can cause issues and a Custom Rom can cause instability issues and in the extreme a non working phone.

I agree that transfer across countries can lead to getting no updates, @doesitmatter disagrees. See Suggestion-make-quot-no-update-available-quot-message-more . We'd be interested in further opinions on the matter.

Once again you make claims you can't back up.... Maybe you should stop spreading misinformation on this board looking for internet attention.
This is a locked device to a carrier, not the same thing at all as an unlocked device. AT&T will be the one pushing out the update not Samsung... So there is that...
It's clear you have no idea what you speak of, you just throw things out responding to as many postings as you can like it's a contest. Just Stop.

AT&T will be the one to push out the update, so if it was a brand new phone from AT&T what account at AT&T is it connected to? Does AT&T have the EMEI number of the device associated with an account? If not that will cause issues in and of itself. AT&T is very unfriendly when it comes to devices and is the worst company to just buy a device from.
You can put an unlocked firmware on the device but you'll have to use Odin, this way any updates will come from Samsung not AT&T. Go to the XDA forums and read up, plenty of info. But just because you haven't received the update yet means absolutely nothing, there are plenty of people on AT&T that haven't received it yet.
Since you're on an AT&T device you would do better on the U.S. forum for Samsung then this one, as this is the International forum and the devices here are different.

You have your opinion and advice and I respect that and I have mine.
If you don't agree with me then that's fine however there's no need for that type of response to me.
This forum is a friendly place to visit and it would be nice for it to remain that way.
Have a great day.

Hi @IreibeX
Members have their own take and opinion on this and I respect that.
If a person does not agree with anothers advice then I've no issue with that and the OP can then listen to all aspects and angles of opinion and do their own homework and go from there.
