@campfreddy0: Sorry to hear of your disappointment. Have you tried registering another fingerprint to see if the issue persists? If you have and it still fails to recognise it then please open the Members app, tap 'Get Help' at the bottom of the screen and select Interactive Checks > Fingerprints. Follow the on screen prompts and let me know if the test fails.

Please be aware that the scanner may struggle to recognise your fingers if they are too wet or too dry, for example in very cold weather conditions. Ensure that the fingerprint sensor area is not scratched or damaged by metal objects such as coins, keys, pens and necklaces. Press the screen so that your fingertip spreads over the wide surface of the fingerprint recognition area.

Hi @campfreddy0  Very beneficial advice from @AndrewL .

Have you though taken a few scans of your thumbs which can help,  I also have scans of thumbs  and  one finger.

When I'm setting up the same two fingerprint scans I also set them @campfreddy0  up via...

Set them up as you naturally hold the phone.

Press on all four corners of the scanner when creating your fingerprints so when your unlocking the phone with your finger it has more if a chance to unlock if you just catch the edge of the fps.

If a person has a screen protector then turn on the extra sensativity setting in the phone.

@CrispyNoodles

In addition to my reply earlier in this thread.

A couple of tips I picked up when setting up the finger prints are.

When setting up take x3 scans with each thumb and then rotate the phone around when taking further prints of each thumb so your phone can read both thumbs from the same finger print scan. Scan your prints as you would normally hold the phone.

Also using two fingers when setting up one fingerprint works pretty well.

Go into Settings . Biometrics and Security.  Biometrics Preferences . Turn Off Screen Transition Effect.

Then go into Settings and search for Optomise Battery Usage. Tap in Optimise  Battey Usage  tap to show All and scroll down to com.samsung.android.biom and toggle Off

For me this improved the fps on my Note 10+ 5G which I appreciate is a different model to yours but should be the same outcome- hopefully.

I also have dry skin on my fingers and so find it sometimes beneficial to moisten my fingertip before unlocking the phone.
