Facebook App icon badges don't work ??

This is not something that i had noticed beforehand, although a friend has recently bought an S10e and noticed that the facebook app does not update with an App Icon count for notifications.   

I have checked my S10+ and it is the same, although this doesn't bother me so much that Facebook is not notifying me with constant updates.   However for my friend she finds it frustrating that she cannot see an Icon badge count on the facebook app.   Most other apps seem to be fine with these icon badges including email / ebay etc.

Any suggestions for a fix ?  Do others have the same issue for these app icon counters with FB ?

In the notification settings for the facebook app, they have all been enabled in 'silent' with App Icon Badge enabled.

Hi @smiley 

Are you referring to the main Settings app in the phone? Go to Apps > Settings > Notifications > App icon badges > Show with number?

All settings are setup as such as you have suggested for the app badge settings ... and I have also checked all of the facebook notifications are set correct.   

It still does not give the app icon badge.   Something appears a bit broken with the FB app for me.

Same problem for me on Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9+. Smartphones of 1k dollars that does'nt provider notification correctly.

are you able to tell me if this is affecting any other app and if Facebook is up to date?

I have this issue with Facebook only and is always up to date (also Android is up to date), i have tried everything to solve: reset phone, cache wipe, clear data ecc, but still not working correctly.

Now i buyed (5$) Nova Launcher Prime and i'm using with Tesla Notifications to have all the notifications. I hope I can use a default Samsung launcher that works soon.

I have no notification problems on other devices, Samsung Tab2 & Huawei MediaPad, only on Samsung galaxys.

Where are you based @Arlind83 ? Have you checked the app settings to see if notifications are enabled there? If this is the case, I would recommend contacting Facebook support/developers to make them aware about this so this can be resolved.
