Emergency call only.

When in the car my phone goes offline and says emergency calls only, this has only started today following an update on my phone. 

Anyone know if there is something in my settings I need to change.

Does this happen even when the battery is more than 50 % ?
Do you keep your phone on "power saving " mode ?

I don't keep it on it but it may have been on it,could it have been that?

On some phones , when power saving mode is enabled , it also deactivates network connection ( 3G/4G/5G ) . However , it might be the case that somehow your phone goes into flight mode / airplane mode ....

So it's done it again but I didn't have the power saving on any other reason it may do this?

Before you enter your car everything is fine ?
How about when you leave the car ? Everything goes back to normal ?
When in the car , and you say your phone goes offline , how exactly do you realise it went offline ? Does the car notify you or the phone ?

Are you using Android Auto by any chance ?

I wasn't at the time when it went to EM call, I was in the gym and my phone was in my bag...

Have you thought that maybe , being indoor there might not be mobile signal on your specific network ?
