Hi everyone,

Just got a samsung s10 after being apple foe ages

One thing i noticed was you can not seem to set texts and calls from priority people to make a sound while on silent

It works in DND mode but not when your set to silent or vibrate

How can i fix this? Is there a setting i am missing or an app that does it?

I have my phone on vibrate or silent a lot but i still don't want to miss messages and calls from certain people

Thank you

Hello,

I would like to know if there has been any updates on the topic of being able to have certain contacts ring through even on silent. I know on prevous Samsung phone this was an option.

I will explain for me why it is vital. I am a home health nurse and must have my phone on silent not DND. However, if my elderly grandma or my son's school calls me I need it to ring through. I love Samsung but this is a deal breaker for me. If this is not possible, I will be forced to choose a different phone maker, after 15+ years of having Samsung. I do not want to but this feature is essential for me at least.

Any progress on this?

I don't want DND.

I want to silence my phone as usual and be able to get calls from certain people,  even if they're not favorites.

I'm a first responder and being able to make sure I can be reached when need be and not be bothered when I'm doing something is important to me.

I'm on a Note 10+. I've always loved Samsung and the Note line,  even after the headphone Jack went away.

I'd really love this feature

I work in emergency response and really need to be able to have certain contacts and apps to be prioritized and override silent or vibrate.

Iphones have this feature amd its really appealing to me. I just purchased a Note10+ 5g, I love it but I hope to see this feature soon.

Thank you!

I finally found the way for an override for phone calls.

Settings >> Notifications >> Do not disturb >> Allow exceptions >> Turn on repeat callers

This allows for a person to call twice in 15 min and for it to override the silence of the other things. You can still set exceptions for favorite contacts if you want.

Yeah that doesn't help me.  I need the call to ring on the first time for those on my list.

Yes omg. I am so shocked this phone doesn't have this feature. Every other phone does!

Same with the lack of a zoom function in selfie mode?

There's a really cool app called NeedUNow that allows you to bypass the silent and do not disturb setting on any device (IPhone, Android, or cross devices). If one of your contacts (after added into the app) sends you an alert, an audible alert will sound until you view the message and it also has an immediate call back button and SOS button within the app. It's free for up to 2 contacts, $0.99/month ($9.99/yr) for 3-10 contacts, and $4.99/month ($49.99/yr) for unlimited contacts. This app and call back feature also works with international contacts. www.needunowapp.com

This needunow app would not work. It seems all parties have up be using the app, and I need to have work numbers from landlines bypass the silent notifications. Can't use DND mode. Custom ringtones and message tones that bypass the silent or vibrate modes works the best for what I need.

Star doesn't appear in Samsung contacts in my Note 10 plus anymore.

I always use Google contacts, actually I use Google calendar, Google keyboard, and almost everything Google vs Samsung apps.
