Disabling calendar reminders

Having got an S10 after having a few second-hand S5 phones I've realised that reminders are set to be on whenever I create an event on Samsung Calendar. I have to manually turn them off every time.  Is there seriously no way to disable this globally? The S5 never had this happening by default.

After disabling it a couple of times it said there was a setting to disable it which I have done. I have no idea where that was. I would have deleted this post but for no reason only moderators can do that was is laughable. I'm not wasting my time finding who they are to ask them to delete it.
