Dark Mode/ Night Mode

Would it be possible to have dark mode to where you can scale how dark it gets. Like I know that a lot of people like the completely black background, but I am a bigger fan of the charcoal gray background since it is a little easier (for me at least) to see in the sun. If not no worries, just putting that out there.

Thank you for the response, but that isn't exactly what I meant. I have my dark mode on all the time, I was talking more about how its a solid black background. I would like to be able to tone it down from all the way black to a more charcoal gray color so it will be easier for me to see it in the sun compared to the black background.

Badly, this is something Samsung is working on for the future Android version, i think only Apple has that now but this will change soon.

There's no such native option currently available unfortunately.
Though not all hope is lost, for there are applications that would do that for you. You could try Synergy - OneUI Theme Compiler, with the paid (only ~£1) Swift Dark Substratum theme. Or my personal favorite, hex Installer. hex is also a paid app but gives you much more tweaking options. hex is also mod-less theming solution, which means you don't have to recompile your theme each time apps are updated. They're all on the Play Store.

I'll check those out, thank you. Will they affect my regular Samsung theme? Because I do like the default theme for my phone.

You mean the base, unthemed OneUI look? Well, I suggest you check the screenshots shown on the Swift Dark listing before buying it to see if that works for you. On hex installer, you can disable the modifications to OneUI by selecting Default OneUI in UI Modes.

Dark theme and Color inversion

You can change your display to a dark background with either Dark theme or Color inversion.

Turn on Dark theme or Color inversion

1. Open your device's Settings app 
   .
2. Tap Accessibility.
3. Under Display, turn on Dark theme or Color inversion. 
   • Dark theme applies to the Android system UI and supported apps. Colors don't change in media, such as videos.
   • Color inversion applies to everything on your device, including media. For example, black text on a white screen becomes white text on a black screen. There can be issues with color quality or legibility.  

Using Dark theme and Color inversion together

• Android 10 or later: If you open an app that doesn't support Dark theme, turn on Color inversion in addition to Dark theme.
• Android 9 or earlier: You can use only one of these settings at a time. For example, if you turn on Dark theme, Color inversion automatically turns off.
