Hello.

Bought s10e model and cant find 'Caller id and spam protection' setting in a call settings.

It is missing.

Samsung promo site advertise this function like a default one (google 'smart call').

What it could depend on?

When I had my previous phone (google pixel) I had similar functionality and this was the stock Android 9.

Very dissapointing.

I situated in Russia by the way.

Thank you for the clarification 'Does'.  I've also learned something else in the last hour.  The 'Phone' app can also be modified by your carrier (which looks to be the case in my situation).  Looks like my problem will be resolved ultimately at the carrier account level rather than at the device level.  This is something (carrier versus devices settings) anyone else having this issue should investigate.  Good luck to all.

I THINK SOLVED.... Yeh i found this issue too- went to menu, settings etc. couldn't find it. So i clicked on phone icon (as if i were to make a normal phone call where it shows the keypad) then top right corner i tapped settings. It was in there. Good luck!

Just a heads up for anyone searching the internet about this topic since this is one of the first things that comes up.

I can't speak for the carriers in other countries, but here in the US I have AT&T and they flat out disable/remove this feature at the firmware level on Samsung devices you buy from them.

Why? Well money of course. They have a app called "AT&T Call Protect" it's purpose is the same, but it's functionality is pretty limited. Well unless you subscribe to the "pro" version for $3 a month on your bill.

Can't have that feature built into the phone for free when the carrier has a inferior solution to sell you 😕

On the bright side it's VERY easy to flash your samsung phone you bought from your carrier to the unlocked firmware. I got my Note 20 Ultra from AT&T. But first thing I did was flash it over to the US Unlocked firmware. That gets rid of the crazy amount of bloatware AT&T pre loads on the device, restores the caller ID / spam / robocall detection and blocking feature, and lets me get system updates directly from Samsung now instead of through AT&T.

Thanks for this explanation.  US Cellular appears to also disable this feature, and when I ask them about it they encourage me to pay $3 per month to use their own "call guardian" app.  Why would I stay with a carrier who actually removes features from my phone and then tries to re-charge me to get them back?
