There are annoying spam messages that come through as text, and Samsung unbelievably cannot block them. Will Samsung be updating this feature?

@bl8: For clarity, are you receiving spam emails, and being notified of those emails via SMS text message? All I can suggest is opening the Email app > Tap the 3 lines in the top left > Tap the cog in the top right of the pop up window > Spam Addresses, and add any relevant senders to this section. Similarly, open the Messages app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings, and add the details to the Blocked numbers or Blocked Messages section. You can also open the text conversation, tap the 3 dots in the top right and select Block Contact. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Thanks for your suggestion. Neither works. These are messages sent from email addresses so the 3 dots on the sms doesn't work. In fact the option to block the contact doesn't even pop up with these texts.

You can turn off the notifications, they will still be in your messages but at least they won't sound or light up your phone.

1. Open the message from the email you dont want

2. Click the 3 lines for more options on the top right

3. Click notification type and change it to custom

4. There should be a gear wheel next to custom now open that

5. Turn off notifications for your custom message notification and your email texts will be silent.

Samsung should allow blocking emails, but hopefully this helps reduce your issue.

Most phone carriers offer a way to use your phone number as an email

  • T-Mobile – number@tmomail.net.
  • Virgin Mobile – number@vmobl.com.
  • AT&T – number@txt.att.net.
  • Sprint – number@messaging.sprintpcs.com.
  • Verizon – number@vtext.com.
  • Tracfone – number@mmst5.tracfone.com.
  • Ting – number@message.ting.com.
  • Boost Mobile – number@myboostmobile.com.

Actually, lately I have been completely overwhelmed by an extreme amount of spam emails coming into my Samsung Galaxy S10 in the form of text messages. They all have a link leading me to varying bogus sites that all appear to be legit but are all clearly fradulant.

One example is , "Hey K******n, your Netflix subscription has expired. Contact us to get a free year" Or  " Our FedEx delivery driver has made the last attempt to deliver your package. Please contact us immediately to make arrangements for delivery"

I am seriously, no exaggeration am receiving no less than 5 to 6 of these messages a day at all hours of the day/night. I have blocked every single number that they come in from and yet they still come in from another number. I am at witts end!

Please, if anyone has advice please help.. And yes, I have done that thing where I hit the three dots at the top right-hand side of the message app and filtered out messages and everything else I could find to do online 🤯

Oh, I can report them, but what's the use when I'd have to literally report hundreds of them?

I'm with Kbirbs1, this is getting out of hand. I have an S8. How do we block emails that come through as text messages? There is no block option in the 3 dot menu
