I have recently purchased an S10 lite with android 10 software. I was advised that the android 10 supports audio streaming for hearing ***** ASHA but can not find any option in my settings for this feature. I have a cochlear implant and a hearing aid which both support audio streaming but although android 10 was advertised as supporting this feature, it is not available on my phone. This feature is the only reason I upgraded from an S8 to this S10 and am extremely disappointed that it will not work. I was under the impression I could stream music and phone conversations direct to my hearing aid and cochlear implant. Can anyone help please. David

Hello @DavidHa

A Google and forum search does bring up some information about this feature and Samsung phones.

One such thread is Android-Streaming-for-Hearing-*****-ASHA-support-in-Galaxy-A.

I hope this and other resultsvia a search may yield further information for you.

I wish you all the best with this situation.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

@DavidHa: If you go to Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Enhancements > Hearing Aid Support > Bluetooth Hearing Aid, and follow the on-screen prompts, you should be able to sync your hearing aid to the device. If you're still having issues, check the Google Play Store to see if there is a companion application for your hearing aid, as this may be required to access some of the features you wanted. For further clarification, please contact the hearing aid manufacturer directly.

ASHA streaming only works on S9, S10 and S21 plus latest Note model. Its a flagship model premium feature that should be available on all samsung phones. Its as if Samsung think that only people who can afford premium devices can afford hearing *****. This feature has been available on all Apple devices since 2013.

Can anyone verify the S21 series indeed supports ASHA. The post above from @Davof is the only thing I found on the internet that says it should work.

On Samsung’s site: (https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-s21-ultra-5g/specs/) below “Accessibility” it reads:

  • Hearing aid compatibility
  • Bluetooth® hearing aid support

Is that the same as ASHA compatible?

There is no reason that ASHA is not enabled on all Samsung phone. As this feature is availa le on all phones runninf android ten or later it should be activated. As deaf ed is a disabilty this is discrimination contrary to the equality act of 2010. Can everyone on this group please contact Samsung UK and make a formal claim under tbe act. Once that is done we can pass this through to the regulator.
