Hi,

I was hoping someone can help.

I have recently purchased a Samsung S10 and this is the first I have used one.

I'm trying to setup up Android Auto but not having any joy. I have a 2019 Mercedes E Class, the automatic start isnt appearing and the car isnt reconising the phone. I have tried the usb that came with the phone for charging as well the usb wire from Mercedes for Samsung phones.

Could this have something to do with app permissions.  Any help would be apprciated.

Thanks in advance

I am having exactly the same problem after the Samsung upgrade. Everything was fine and now my mercedes does not recognise the media on my phone and just says no device connected. Tried everything cleared everything and reconnect but nothing. It all works fine in my wife's fiat 500

Yes , apparently the port is wired incorrectly.

If you need your lights on instead of on automatic it works.

Sounds stupid but it worked on my E Class.

Wow you are an absolute legend mate! Literally the only thing that worked for me. Did you take it to the dealership to get sorted? What a weird thing to happen! Don't fancy leaving my lights on all the time just for the sake of android auto so curious to know if you got it sorted by the dealership

No problem at all. It really is, wonder if they have fixed from factory on the newer plates. From the sounds of things not many of the staff at Mercedes actually knew about the fix either.

Yes I got fixed by the dealership, took about a hours work and not had a problem since.

Hi Journeyman

Many thanks for your comment regarding the android auto issues with my 2017 E class.

I have tried to connect my car using the temporary fix you stated above but still no joy with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra yet it worked fine with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Ultra.

I guess it’s an issue with Samsung and it’s driving me mad as I prefer the Google maps on my phone when traveling and not the built in satnav as it’s out of date.

thanks
