Android 10 update has killed my Galaxy S10

I have the O2 branded software version of the Galaxy S10.

Since updating my phone this morning, the phone has become really hot, Gallery has no photos and crashes, Google Play Store crashes along with other native Google and Samsung apps, the screen is really unresponsive and sluggish. 

A bug fix really needs to be sent out ASAP!! I had so much trouble with the Android 9 update last year on my old Note 9 that I thought twice about downloading the Android 10 update but I chose to go ahead after a couple of days of thinking about it because of some of the features that I would find really beneficial. I'm now seriously regretting this decision! 🤬

That's not good at all !

 

My phone is bought from Samsung and I did the update a few weeks ago without issue but I always back up beforehand just incase something is lost in the process such as photos etc. I use Samsung Cloud and Dropbox.

People use a Sd card or other online vault options.

 

Try putting the phone in Safe Mode which disables any downloaded apps and leaves the stock ones Live and then see what happens. If things improve then one or more of your apps could be clashing and needs updating by the developer. Come out of Safe Mode and start deleting your most recent apps one at a time as a process of elimination.

 

May I suggest the following which may / may not help.

 

1. Turn the phone off and then from a set series of button presses go into the phones system files and clear the cache. No information is lost this way.

 

2. As a very last resort back up and remove any relevant Sd card and factory reset.

 

2. Let a Samsung Experience Store  / Samsung Service Centre have hands On or take it back to your nearest o2 Highstreet Store Store however I'd recommend using Samsung as they know their hardware and software better and an o2 shop would typically send it away.

 

Create a back up before relinquishing your handset.

Wipe the cache partition, often helps after update-related problems

If that doesn't help, boot into safe mode

If that helps, find the app that causes the problem.

If it doesn't help, do a factory reset.

@Lava087  Know it must be a bit frustrating but hopefully sorted soon,  good advice from @BandOfBrothers  and  @IreibeX .     Certainly important to back up,    wiping cache partition , booting into safe mode or factory reset in most cases will  solve the issue but there is always the option to take it to  service centre /store if all else fails.

Samsung Note 9 - same situation, after update my phone went to infinite reboot loop and became very hot. Official service couldn't help, told me the only way to fix it - to replace motherboard with is device half price. I'm furious of how Sasmung treats "old devices"
