The edge lighting does not seem to work. The settings are set to always on, with basic effect, max width and low transparancy and set for 9 apps - email, messages, facebook, etc. But not working.
Maybe it does not work with the Samsung S clear cover?
Thanks for the advice BOB. Took the Samsung Clear View case off. Seems to work now with some of the apps such as Facebook. [all apps are turned on in the settings, band width made large etc.]. I wish Samsung would say if products are not totally compatiable. In this case [excuse the pun] say edge lighting does not fully function with their clear view case. I have turned edge lighting off now - edge lighting is a bit of a gimack anyway.
You're very welcome @TheArchetect
I agree that if a case can hinder a phones own features then that should be highlighted on its compatibility sheets.
I really do not pay attention to the lighting effect on my Note 9 however I can see it being important for the hearing impaired for example
