Galaxy Note9 SeriesSo I spend a lot of money on a beautiful phone then I have to buy a case and screen protector to protect it from the inevitable damage of daily life - but why?
Why doesn't Samsung make phones that already have protection but are still beautiful? Surely this would be a huge selling point.
Who else agrees with me?

Galaxy Note9 SeriesWhat type of "built in" protection would interest you ?
As some prefer to go naked i.e have no cases etc then it would need to be removable or Samsung would need to sell different variations and that could be costly.
The manufacturers leave the personal preference of cases etc up to the consumer to choose and not impose options.
I use a Rhinoshield Crashguard Bumper which is very minimal along with a Whitestone Dome Glass screen protector and a dbrand Black Camo back skin to protect my £1,100 investment.

Galaxy Note9 SeriesProbably because current market trend is glass front and glass back phones which even when they are Gorilla Glass 5 they'll still break if the phone hits at certain angles or on uneven surfaces etc.
There has to be a high demand for such a phone your describing for manufactures to produce them but currently my opinion is there isn't or they'd be making them.
People who want a rugged phone can buy them but mostly are not as aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Galaxy Note9 SeriesWhat you're describing sounds like the Active/ Xcover range. There were a few released in the UK (I believe the last one was Xcover 4 and the S8 Active was US only) and these were more robust by design.

Galaxy Note9 SeriesPeople do not always buy cases for the primary reason to protect it from an accidental drop.
More often than not it's to add some design they like, colour or a brand name like a football club etc.
I add a Rhinoshield Crashguard Bumper because its minimal and adds grip.

Galaxy Note9 SeriesWow CarlH, thanks for this, I never knew this existed.
Only problem is that I have recently bought a Note 9, hmmm. I wish Samsung would bring out a Note 9 in a similar guise. But thanks again, I will certainly consider this phone next time.
