Hi @raffoi.

Are you still having this issue or did you find a resolution?

I may be having the exact same problem.

When it is idle and locked with the screen off, the screen keeps turning on.

When I am using the phone, I keep getting an alert in the Notification bar from "Android System" with message "USB connector connected", followed by an alert from "Android System" with message "USB connector disconnected".

No device is plugged into the USB-C port.

Has anyone figured it out?

Hi, you need to boot it into the mode where you can wipe the cache and restart, the error should disappear.

  1. Shut down the device.
  2. Hold the Volume Up key along with Bixby key and while holding the two also press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Samsung logo displays after NOTE 9 display, release all three keys.
  4. Android system recovery menu options will appear and one of the options will be called wipe cache, you can press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  5. Press Power key to select.
  6. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes,  press the Power key to select.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  8. Press the Power key to restart the device.

and Viola, this should help!

Just to provide an update for anyone else: upon closer inspection it appears that some of the contacts within the USB-C port have been destroyed.  It was black around them, so would seem that the pins melted/fell off as the result of a power issue (shorted somehow?).

Fortunately for me, the moisture detection sensor also failed-on days after.  Erroneously detecting moisture causes the device to disable the port, making the device useful again.  Therefore, my port has been disabled for months now.  Rather than buying a new device, I have been relying on wirelesly Qi charging and just not having a usable port.  However, by the port being disabled I am now able to use the phone without a barrage of notifications and associated battery and performance impact.

Anyone know if this is repairable?

I am having the same issue, and the USB port in my device has never been used by me, as I only charge it wirelessly. Any help?
