note-9 dual sim

Are the Note-9 and the Note-9 (hybrid) fundamentally different (I'm guessing they are), or is their difference simply the type of SIM tray they use?

 

I'm assuming you can't simply swap from single-SIM tray to dual- tray to turn the phone into a hybrid?

Pretty much the case. 

 

The hybrid duos version. Takes x2 sims or 1 sim and a sd card. 

 

The single sim version cannot be converted as it does not have the software or hardware. 

 

For example in my Note 9 Hybrid I can select certain preferences between sim 1 and sim 2 etc.
