This is common amongst app developers when new software comes out on either android or iPhone. If you have no app updates in google play then It's best to contact the developer via the Google play store to report the bug. Usually the smaller the developer the less chance you'll see updates as the years go on.
Sometimes my Samsung apps don't work following a software update but its usually resolved within a few hours.
Hi. I had same problem and solve that in config, background options. YouTube and YouTube Music was limited to run in background and Android kill apps in fews minutes.
After move its to ignored list, this solve the problem.
