Whatsapp videos sending sped up

Since my purchase of my note 20 ultra, my whatsapp hasn't been able to send a video approximately 1 minute or over 1 minute without the video speeding up after about 15 seconds than freezing about halfway into the video, but the sound is still perfect throughout the video? Never seen anything like this and have been using whatsapp and Samsungs for years. Ireached out to whatsapp but they only replied with automated replies, typical fixes like uninstall reinstall, etc. Tried all that and even tried to reinstall without restore. Even if I edit the video down to 20 seconds it will still do this or edit the resolution down. The video also takes about 15 to 30 minutes to send on 4g, 5g or wifi where before i had the note 20, it would take under a minute on average. So after the video is sent, it does this on my phone in the whatsapp app, not in my gallery, and it does it on the senders phone. I even tried sending the video from my Google photos thinking there may be an issue with my SD card. So than I tried changing the resolution from 2320 x 1080 to 1920 x 1080 and so far the videos are sending fine. So it seems since Facebook bought whatsapp, they have been truncating pics and videos down considerably. Very disappointing 😕

Hi! I have the exact same issue with WhatsApp. Have you had any luck with Samsung support on this yet? Have used WhatsApp on Samsung phones for years without any problem. So annoying with an expensive flagship phone. Out of interest, is yours the snapdragon version and are you in UK or USA?

So I'm in the US and I figured out the issue and have a work around until they come out with an update and I did let Samsung know. I forgot to post it. So in your video settings you need to just lower the res to 1920 x 1080. It is just doesn't work yet on 2320 x 1080. Hope this helps

Hi Steve, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I will also report this to Samsung to be sure they do something. In the meantime I'll lower my resolution. Such a shame to have the capability to record 4k at 60fps and not use it though on our Note 20 ultras that were designed for it! Cheers
