I had the note 9 and i am used to the pen working with a light touch. If I lightly move the pen around the screen on the note 20 nothing registers and the tiny pointer circle is still visable. I have to press firmly for the phone to register my presses and its making typing a nightmare as every other word is misspelled. Is this a fault with my phone/pen or is this how the new pen works? I have the stock protector on and touch sensitivity is on. Thanks

I Dropped my s pen and now its working just like the Note9!!!!! it is an issue with the pen!!! It should work instantly so anyone reading this who's s-pen you have apply pressure to work, your pen is faulty and you should ask for a replacement!
I have the note 20 ultra also and your correct, it doesent move at the lightest touch, u have to apply some pressure(not much at all) , but it doesent seem incorrect or faulty, Infact it feels better to myself
Thanks for the reply, I just cant get used to the extra pressure needed, almost every word in this message was spelt wrong. It is nicer for scrolling Web searches but I just can't type without jabbing the letters hard, it hurts my wrist.
I am facing the same issue with my new note 20 ultra. I had the note 9 and the s pen works very smooth and accurately. The s pen in note 20 ultra take extra pressure and even misses out inbetween when i type. I tried using my note 9 s pen on note 20 ultra and it worked perfectly fine. I m really not liking the note 20 ultra s pen insensitivity . Its too much pressure and misses out while you write. Suggest any way i can resolve the issue.
I don't have any screen protector on yet..just because of Spen . It doesn't work smooth at all but phone is amazing. Surprisingly my note 9 Spen works great on note 20 ultra.
The note 20 ships with a film screen protector already on. Did you take that off?. The note 9 pen works much better but doesn't fit in the slot otherwise I would swap them over
I did took the film protector off... Yes the note 9 Spen doesn't fit into note 20 ultra ..but the sensitivity and working is much much better that original note 20 ultra Spen. I wonder if this is just with few orders (like us) .
I'm trying to get through to web chat but no one is available. It would be nice if a few users could comment and say their pen is working the same as the older models, but they wont be on the forums 😞

I Spoke to web chat, the person had no clue about pressure and couldn't tell anything at all, he had idea!!!! They are however sending me another s-pen for free. I think I read they are £40 each, so that's a result. I'll keep you posted. unless you want to do the same. Part of the conversation is below.

before troubleshooting could you confirm if this is actually an issue or a feature? should the pen work as soon as it touches the screen (like my note9) or does it require additional pressure to use?

Can you see any of the icons above in the notification bar? Which indicate that S Pen is working.

Yes. the s-pen is working perfectly when you press down with some pressure. all features are fully functional. light presses and strokes however do not register

Put your S Pen back into your device. It may take a minute or so to reconnect. And try it again, to check if the issue was resolve or not.

it has not solved the issue, I have also tried resetting the phone, resetting the s-pen and a factory reset

How would they do this? by visiting me or sending the phone off? I cannot travel to a support centre as the nearest one is 60 miles away.
