Hi

I read lots of reviews and watched some comparison videos exynos Vs Snapdragon , exynos Version really disappointed me I'm in UK so very hard to get Snapdragon version.

Should I get a refund or keep the phone.

Any comments

Thanks

I have the 20 ultra and I love it. it's fast and snappy but I do agree like everyone else that the exynos chip does hinder the phone compared to the Dragon chip. The way I look at it though is , I personally don't know how phones run on the dragon chips as the UK has always used the exynos chips so it's no different to myself. I think it's fast but if someone coming from the Dragon chip then went to the exynos then they would know for sure.

I personally would recommend the ultra not 20 with one big BUT..... for me, ive always used screen protectors and thats where there is a big problem with the note 20. due to having the S pen ,you need a smooth screen so you preferably need a tempered glass screen but only a very select few work with the finger print sensor and the ones that do cost a fortune (£50+) and even then the finger print sensor is not as responsive. So I decided to go for a TPU screen film that I've used before and it's great with the finger print sensor and does protect the screen from scratches which is great but then the S pen doesn't glide very well on them which is really annoying. there is no best of both unless you fork out a good amount of change on it.

This has bothered me to the point of, if I could have, I would have swapped the Note 20 ultra for the 512gb version of the S20 ultra which for what I can see is better on a few things and has 16gb of ram so it's faster and no more worries with screen protectors.

I do recommend the Note 20 ultra though because it is a beast and does things very well and the camera is really good. hope I've helped in some way.

I don't think our exynos chips are bad. you wouldn't notice the difference looking at a SD to exynos. They are both blazing fast. battery life is hour longer on SD and doesn't throttle the gaming experience after an hour like exynos but samsung can fix that with a firmware update. no issues at all with exynos. I've had every note available except the 5 and no issues

Hi @Temur

On balance people have had mixed experiences with the Exynos Soc in a N20 Ultra.

I returned the N20 Ultra Exynos version to Samsung UK and then imported a Snapdragon N20 Ultra using a reputable company.

I find the Snapdragon version is better optimised.

Be aware tho that Samsung UK may not offer support to an imported Samsung phone.

However the company I used attaches a 12 month warranty and I'm also covered by my Household insurance.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions

@BandOfBrothers did you used t-dimension or wonda to import Snapdragon version?

Also what about 5G on SD have you tried to run a test ? heard many having problems with it.

@Temur

I used WondaMobile.

I can't test 5G as my UK Payg tariff does not allow it.

On xdadevelopers.com some say 5G works and some say not or they changed csc to get it to work. Have a look.

I did look Into it some reported after changing csc you  won't get software updates anymore that's bad thing I think anyway I'm not concerned much about 5g .

They collected my exynos last week waiting for the refund :smiling-face:

Me neither @Temur as 5G just provides faster downloads at this time.

I had an experience waiting for my refund unfortunately which is well documented in some of my posts.

It should take 5 to 10 working days. You'll get an email confirming they've received it for refund and shouldn't take long after that.
