Note 20 Ultra 5G Rebooting by Itself

Has anyone else had an issue with their new Note 20 Ultra 5G constantly rebooting by itself?

Took delivery of brand new Note 20 Ultra 5G last Thursday which arrived from the Samsung store. 

Set it up and noticed that it kept rebooting when it wasn't being used. Followed Samsung self help... cleared cache partition, restarted with same issue... safe mode but still same issue... factory data reset without loading any apps and still same rebooting issue.

I can't see any other posts that refer to self reboot issues with the Note 20 Ultra 5G so maybe it's a one off, but it seems strange, straight out of the box.

 

Contacted support today who offered refund after a couple of frustrating hours on hold / live chat / disconnection more calls and emails. Will take the refund but would have preferred a working phone as the design is really nice. Not sure whether to chance ordering a replacement as customer service was a pretty poor experience.

Hi @RogerBSpain 

 

I believe the phone can be set up to reboot at pre selected intervals called Auto Restart under Device Care. Press The 3 little dots in the top Rh corner and press Advanced and then you can see if it's toggled On.

 

If it's not toggled On then I'd arrange its collection and then a new one.

you need take it to Samsung store I had same prob with my S10+ it's a setting in the phone needs to be changed

Thanks ... had factory reset the phone ready to send it back, but set it up again to check if the auto restart toggle could have been the issue. It was set to off so presuming it is off as standard and possibly  not the issue but will see. Appreciate your advice

Thanks Brian... I may well do if I can find a nearby store but there are also a few other issues with the phone becoming unresponsive, so I'm thinking I've got a bad one. Very much in two minds whether to get a refund or replacement

Yes, I'm thinking so. Maybe try a new unit and if I have any issues I'll stick with my One Plus 8 Pro

yes I had this exact thing happen to my brand new ultra 20.  It seems to happen only when in my back pocket.  This is a major bug.

Hi, I'm from Argentina, I have exactly the same problem on a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It restarts randomly throughout the day.
I already made a hard reset and continues to do so. I don't have the automatic reboots feature activated either.

I'm having the same problem with my NOTE 20 ULTRA .... The phone wakes me up at dawn when it reboots. This kind of problem with such an expensive product is unacceptable. We need to make some noise on the internet to force SANSUMG to correct the problem.
