Note 20 Ultra 5g photos Gallery turn grey with ! mark

It seems a lot of photos turn grey with the " ! " mark, they show in the SD card but show an error code. Can't open them, they're lost forever!!! I've tried different settings and nothing works. Some are ok but many are blank. I've check Samsung and Microsoft cloud and they're still MIA.  Is this a wide problem?

I think the SD card is faulty, take it out and insert it in a laptop, can you see the photos this way ?

Or the photos may be in another format which the phone cannot read.

Yeah I have the exact same problem. I've had my SD card for over six months with no problems. How can it Suddenly go wrong.
