I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5g and use a LED Cover... since the last update (Android 11 and One UI 3.0), I repeatedly get a message popping up saying "LED Cover Service Keeps Stopping" ... and there are multiple entries showing this in the app crash logs. It's draining my battery severely.

I've tried the usual - removing the case and re-attaching, restarting the device, even re-installing the LED Icon Editor app. None of these have helped. Has anyone else had this problem, and have you managed to find a solution? Thanks in advance.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5g and use a LED Cover I bought direct from Samsung. I have the same issue with LED Icon ... these cases are not cheap at £60.00 and I'd like it to last longer than 4 months.

Hi @mammasues - Samsung Support have suggested wiping the cache partition... I've tried this, but too early to say if it fixes the problem

"Wiping the cache partition: The system cache partition stores temporary system data. It's supposed to allow the system to run more quickly and efficiently, but sometimes things get cluttered and outdated so a periodic cache clearing can help make the system run more smoothly. It's different from clearing individual app caches, and it won't lead to any loss of personal data or settings. Below are the steps:

1- Ensure the device is powered off & plugged into a laptop
2- Simultaneously press and hold the Volume Up button + home button/Bixby button+ Power button until recovery booting appears in the upper-left part of the screen.
3- Using volume down or up to move and power key to select, choose wipe cache partition.
4- Select Yes
5- Allow several seconds for the clear cache to complete.
6- Select the reboot system now."

I found that these steps would only access the Recovery Boot mode if the phone is plugged into a laptop when you follow the steps

Wiping the cache partition didn't fix the problem - Samsung now want me to do a factory reset... which will be highly inconvenient. It doesn't feel like there's any real troubleshooting going on here, just a series of more extreme turn it off/on again steps. I don't know how to view the app crash logs... which would surely give more insight into the underlying reason for the crash

I now have the same problem, after the latest safety-upgrade from Samsung shipped on 14. February 2021. Until then everything worked fine.

When a notification arrives and the cover is open, the screen goes permanently on and off. Until I unlock the screen at acknowledge the notification.

Also this morning, the battery still had 35% charge, then I went out for a walk, On return after 90 minutes, the phone was off, battery on 0%.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S10 with Android 11 and One UI 3.0

Sadly, I've had no useful suggestion from Samsung. I've now had to stop using the (£60) case as the battery drain and phone being hot was concerning

I started having this problem 4 or 5 days ago on my Note 20 Ultra 5G. I've tried all the suggestions except the reset. I've used this style of case for years, but at least for now, must abandon it. It certainly appears Samsung broke something. They should notify us in this forum, plus anyone who filed a crash report, when (A) they recognize there is a problem and (B) when they get it fixed so we can begin using these cases again.
